The day after saving the horses from the race, celebrations were in full swing nearby at the opening of a new mosque that was originally destroyed by the communists in 1931. The event was attended by hundreds of people from the 'Taz Clan.'
The celebrations included a 'baiga' (horse race), wrestling, feasting in traditional yurts, music, and speeches. Tim was asked to say a few words and afterwards he was presented with a traditional 'Chapan' cloak and 'Malakai hat' (which you can see him dressed in). One of the most special days of the entire Kazak experience. These are a series of photos from the mosque celebrations.
