For water transport, hydration and storage I chose a range of Platypus products. I have about 12 litres of very compact storage bladders, a 6 litre transport bladder (with handles and a snap lock top for easy access- for example it makes life a lot easier fetching water from a stream or tap than through the usual narrow bottle top), and also a hydration unit that will be on my back during the journey so I can avoid having to carry a drink bottle on the saddle.
Thanks to Platypus and Spelean for these!
REVIEW FROM THE ROAD
What can I say: tough, collapsible, convenient for water retrieval, storage, and transport. When not in use they take up almost no space at all. The only problem I had with one of these was my own fault: I filled a water carrier up in the evening and it froze sold overnight. I was out of snow and water and was forced to cut it open to boil the ice.
Recommended for sure.
