Custom Pack Rigging Pack Saddle

One of the first things that I was told by the Long Riders Guild was that 80 percent of pack-horse journeys failed due to problems with the pack-horse! Having a quality pack saddle and pack boxes would be crucial in avoiding injuries to the horse. Without exception everyone directed me to Custom Pack Rigging in Canada. After some consultation I chose a pack-saddle from their range and two large plastic pack boxes which are tapered to fit the shape of a horse. The pack saddle is adjustable to meet the varying sizes of horses and is lightweight and simple to use. Assuming that I use the equipment correctly it could well be my saviour. I also chose the felt pads, cinches, and even a bell from Custom Pack Rigging. REVIEW FROM THE ROAD Without doubt the most valued of all my horse tack possessions is the custom pack rigging pack saddle. It is simple, tough, adjustable, and so far has not so much as caused any rub mark on the packhorses. I have had up to 80kg on the pack horse and so far travelled 3000km, and never had a problem. The large pack boxes fit like a glove and are easy to load. Twice my horses have rolled over while still wearing the pack saddle, and the saddle has not even so much as been slightly bent. It is so adjustable that I found it perfect for using on Bactrian camels, and can also be fitted to use on a Yak or a mule. The CPR felt pad is also indispensible. In comparison, using local Kazak saddles with canvas bags has been a nightmare: much harder to pack and caused injuries. I am now using two CPR saddles. For a long rider these saddles are brilliant.
