Socks can often be overlooked but with the right choice can help prevent cold, wet and blistered feet. For my journey I need socks that will last, reduce sweat, be comfortable, and yet keep my feet warm even in the coldest conditions.
X-socks have developed leading technology in being able to do just this with models made to fit for specific activities. I have chosen the Air-force 1, Ski, and Trekking Expedition models.
All socks have special ventilation channels which allow sweat to leave the shoe, and reinforced material where it is needed- primarily on the toes, heel, and under the leaning side of the foot. They support the foot and are made to fit specific feet sizes. When I put my first pair on I was surprised that it made my feet feel far more supported and comfortable than ordinary socks.
The Air-force one socks are made for cold conditions with a real silver lining in the foot-bed to create warmth and reduce bacteria build up which causes that terrible smell!
The Ski socks are made for keeping your feet warm all day, even if you are not moving your feet as much as usual- this will be helpful for me with my feet in the stirrups. They are a long sock that come right up to the knee with generous insulation.
The trekking expedition socks are the lightest of the socks that I have ordered and are made specifically for hard trekking in warm to moderately cold conditions.
So far I am very impressed by all of these socks, which tend to keep my feet a lot drier than usual and warm. I have already washed them several times and they keep their form extremely well.
Thanks to Reflex sports for this great product. X-socks can be found at all good sport/outdoor stores nationally.
So far the socks have been brilliant. I have travelled 3000km and the socks are barely showing any signs of wear. The ski socks are particularly comfortable in the cold, and the trek and air-force modells are tough, well fitting, and also very warm. Definitely recommended!
