Tim's Writing, Photography, Radio and Film Highlights

• Co-producing, directing and filming of 'The Trail of Genghis Khan' a 4 x 44 minute series for ZDF/ARTE Europe, and 6 x 26 minute series for ABC Australia.
• Filming and making of award winning documentary, Off the Rails, On the Back Roads to Beijing. This was aired on the ABC and distributed internationally by Beyond Distribution (2002).
• The writing of Off the Rails, a book co-authored by Chris Hatherly and published by Penguin in April 2003 (published by Summersdale in the UK).
• Principle camera work for The Yenisey Expedition, a film sold to National Geographic's Adventure One channel in 2002.
• Contributing author for Lonely Planet's Middle of Nowhere hardback travel book 2006.
• Writing five feature stories for the Sunday Sun-Herald (Sydney fairfax paper) about Mongolia, Kazakhstan, Kalmykia, the Hutsuls, and Russia (of which three were the main cover story for the travel issues).
• Three major features (text and photography) for Australian Geographic, including the most recent article in the Jan-March 2008 edition which was an 18 page story and the first time in Australian Geographic's history that an Australian adventurer made the front cover.
• Photos sold to National Geographic Adventure Magazine for two issues including a full page photo for the December/January 07/08 edition.
• The subject and narrator for a Discovery Channel marketing film shot on 35mm in the Dubai desert for release across global networks in early 2008.
• A series of radio interviews for Radio National Australia, 774 Melbourne, Hobart ABC, Perth ABC, and Triple-J. Some further PR work included interviews for the BBC World Service, CNN News International, BBC 4 Radio 'Excess Baggage' program, CBS Canada, and the Vera Exclusive TV program in Austria.
